Junk Removal Appointment Pricing

Transparent pricing with no hidden fees—here’s how it works

How Our Pricing Works

We base our pricing on the volume of junk we remove, measured in cubic yards. Initially, we provide an upfront estimate when you book. Then, we confirm the final price on-site before we begin work.

  • Pricing: $50/cubic yard | $125 minimum (1 cubic yard ≈ 3ft × 3ft × 3ft)
  • Full Truck Load: Typically 10-12 cubic yards

💳 Payment Methods We Accept

We make payment easy and convenient with multiple options:

  • Cash – Always welcome
  • Personal or Business Checks – Made payable to Junk Hubris LLC
  • Credit & Debit Cards – Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover (processed securely via Stripe or Wave)
  • Venmo – Mobile payment or tap to pay on-site
  • Apple / Google Pay – Digital Wallets
  • PayPal – Send payment to our business account
  • CashApp – Another convenient mobile option

Payment is due upon completion of service. We’ll provide a receipt for your records.

⚠️ Additional Charges May Apply

In some situations, we may need to add fees to cover extra labor, equipment, or disposal costs. However, we always discuss these charges before starting work.

🏢 Stairs & Multi-Story Access

When heavy items require stair navigation, we may add labor charges. For example:

  • Second floor: $25-$75 (depending on item weight and stair configuration)
  • Third floor or higher: $50-$150 per floor
  • Narrow, spiral, or exterior staircases may require additional labor

📏 Long Carry Distance

If our truck cannot park within 50 feet of the pickup location, we add a distance fee. Specifically:

  • 50-100 feet: $25-$50
  • Over 100 feet: Additional charges based on distance and item weight

🏋️ Heavy or Oversized Items

Extremely heavy or bulky items require specialized handling. Consequently, we quote these items individually:

  • Safes over 500 lbs: We quote based on weight and access
  • Commercial equipment: We quote on-site
  • Items requiring disassembly or demolition work

♻️ Special Disposal Fees

Certain items have higher disposal costs at recycling facilities. As a result, we add fees for:

  • Appliances with Freon (refrigerators, AC units, dehumidifiers): $25-$50 per unit
  • CRT TVs and monitors: $25-$40 per unit
  • Tires: $10-$25 per tire (depending on size)

🔧 Difficult Access or Conditions

Similarly, we may add charges for challenging situations such as:

  • Items buried under debris that require extensive sorting or excavation
  • Hoarding situations that require sensitive, time-intensive handling
  • Items that require extensive disassembly before removal
  • Inaccessible locations that require special equipment or techniques

✓ Most importantly, we discuss and agree upon all additional charges BEFORE we begin work. Therefore, you’ll never face surprises or hidden fees.

Items We Cannot Accept

For safety and legal reasons, we cannot remove the following items during your junk removal appointment

🚫 Hazardous Materials

We do not hold a license to handle hazardous waste. Therefore, we cannot accept:

  • Paint, stains, solvents, and chemicals
  • Motor oil, gasoline, and diesel fuel
  • Pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers
  • Propane tanks or compressed gas cylinders
  • Car and industrial batteries
  • Cleaning chemicals and household toxins

Instead, contact your local hazardous waste facility or visit Oregon DEQ for proper disposal options.

⚠️ Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACMs)

We do NOT hold a license for asbestos abatement. Moreover, Oregon law requires proper testing and licensed removal for asbestos-containing materials, which may include:

  • Old siding, roofing, or insulation
  • Vinyl floor tiles and adhesive
  • Popcorn ceilings (pre-1980s)
  • Pipe and boiler insulation
  • Old fencing or building materials

IMPORTANT: If you suspect asbestos in any materials, you must have them professionally tested and abated BEFORE your junk removal appointment. Otherwise, you may violate the law.

To find licensed contractors, contact Oregon Health Authority for asbestos testing and abatement services.

⚠️ CUSTOMER LIABILITY FOR ASBESTOS CONTAMINATION

If we discover asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) after loading items into our truck, the customer becomes financially responsible for all costs. These include proper disposal, decontamination, and any regulatory fines or penalties. Consequently, costs can range from $2,000-$10,000 or more depending on the extent of contamination. By law, you must disclose any suspected or known asbestos before our arrival. Failure to disclose ACMs may result in additional legal liability.

🐛 Bedbug-Infested Items

For the safety of our crew—and to prevent contamination of our truck and other customers’ items—we cannot remove:

  • Mattresses, box springs, or furniture with active bedbug infestations
  • Items from homes with known bedbug problems
  • Upholstered furniture showing signs of infestation

However, we can remove items that have been professionally treated and certified bedbug-free. Alternatively, items wrapped in sealed plastic bags for at least 30 days may qualify for removal on a case-by-case basis.

Instead, contact a pest control professional or your local waste facility for guidance on bedbug-infested item disposal.

⚠️ CUSTOMER LIABILITY FOR BEDBUG CONTAMINATION

If we discover bedbugs after loading items into our truck, the customer becomes financially responsible for professional extermination and decontamination costs of our vehicle and equipment. As a result, you may face treatment costs ranging from $500-$2,000 or more. Therefore, please disclose any bedbug concerns before your junk removal appointment.

🚧 Additional Restricted Items

In addition, we cannot accept the following items:

  • Medical waste: Needles, syringes, and biohazard materials
  • Radioactive materials: Smoke detectors (small amounts OK) and industrial equipment
  • Large quantities of dirt, rocks, or concrete: (Small amounts OK—contact us to discuss)
  • Food waste or garbage: Use your regular trash service instead
  • Dead animals: Contact animal control for assistance
  • Firearms or ammunition: Contact your local police department for disposal

How to Prepare for Your Junk Removal Appointment

Follow these simple steps to ensure a smooth pickup experience

✓ Point Out What Goes

Simply show our crew what you want removed. In fact, you don’t need to move or sort anything—we’ll handle it all for you.

✓ Clear a Path

If possible, clear a walking path from the items to your exit. This helps us work faster and, in turn, keeps your other belongings safe.

✓ Secure Valuables

Remove any valuables from furniture or drawers before we arrive. Otherwise, we might accidentally discard important items during the cleanout.

✓ Parking Access

Our 12ft flatbed truck needs accessible parking. If parking is limited, please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.

✓ Identify Special Items

Let us know about items that might contain hazardous materials or asbestos. Similarly, tell us about items requiring special handling, such as pianos or safes.

✓ Be Available

Someone 18 or older should be present during your junk removal appointment. This person needs to point out items, approve the final quote, and provide payment after we complete the job.

Our Eco-Friendly Commitment

We prioritize recycling and donation to minimize landfill waste

♻️ We Recycle

First, we take metal, electronics, appliances, and other recyclable materials to appropriate recycling facilities.

🤝 We Donate

Additionally, we donate usable furniture, household goods, and clothing to local charities and thrift stores. As a result, your items benefit our community.

🌱 Reduced Landfill

Through recycling and donation, we divert as much as possible from landfills. Consequently, we support a greener Portland Metro area.
